Hey I don't think so, it didn't actually ruinded my life, if you become friends with people who live far away it's a good chance to travel and visit other part of the globe. I've already met with my Czech friends and in 2 weeks I'm flying to Sweden, so don't complain, if they are your real friends you'll manage to meet sooner or later.
